Two years ago The Porsche Buyers guide said the best values were the Boxster S.

Received a lot of calls from non-S Boxster’s owners. Allot of cars are for sale but no longer listed. I may drive one home with a good deal. The low mileage Boxster’s in particular have problems with Intermediate shaft bearings (IMS) exploding, and blowing the engines without warning. The problem is greater with stick shifts. So, unless that non-S has had the bearing replaced, and is an automatic, it better be cheap.
